The Ex-Military Rehabilitation Centre Inc (XMRC) has two buses that we use for transport.
The first bus is a Ford Transit van with seating for 9 passengers, it was purchased with partial funding from a DVA grant, this has a wheelchair lift attached and is used for smaller pickups and for towing the trailer when XMRC does BBQs and for taking the scrap metal to the dealers and any other jobs that come along. This bus is also used on Tuesdays by Helping Hand Aged Care for transportation of some of their clients to the centre where they have a men’s group. The bus has also been used as a support vehicle in ANZAC Day parades in Adelaide and is available for other groups to use on an ad hoc basis.
The second bus is a Mitsubishi Rosa with a capacity of 24 passengers; this bus is used for taking bigger groups on outings and has been used by Helping Hand Aged Care, DVA, Gawler RSL Ladies Auxiliary, RSL Care and the Repat Foundation. Funding for the bus was provided by a private trust who have also assisted with funding for our commercial kitchen and joinery shop. Assistance has also been received from RSL care who donated $3,000 in 2014 and $3,500 in December 2017 for running costs & help us keep the fleet on the road.
